Model Kelly Gray and actress Angelina Jolie were fired by clothing company St. Johns.  Kelly Gray is the daughter of the brand's founders Robert and Marie Gray.  Angelina Jolie has been featured in ads for the company since 2005.
St. John’s CEO Glenn McMahon claims the decision to fire Angelina Jolie and Kelly Gray was made because the company believes the she “overshadowed the brand,” Women’s Wear Daily reports.
“We wanted to make a clean break from actresses and steer away from blondes and cleanse the palette,” McMahon said.
The new model for the company will be Karen Elson, the wife of musician Jack White of the White Stripes.
McMahon went on to say "We needed to show a modern point of view of St. John. We have evolved."

Shahid on the controversial smooch with Genelia

Chance Pe DanceImage via Wikipedia
Shahid Kapoor is controversy's favourite child. The latest is, the actor forced his Chance Pe Dance director Ken Ghosh to delete the passionate smooch from the film. Reportedly, Shahid felt that it wouldn't be good for his image when he saw the final cut of the film.
"I've stopped reacting to gossip," Shahid tells me. So what's the truth? "The truth is, there's no smooch in the film. It was never conceptualised, hence it was not filmed. It just doesn't exist. As simple as that," Shahid clarifies.
Meanwhile, Shahid has decided against signing any film for the time being. "I am channelizing all my energies on my father's [Pankaj Kapoor] directorial debut. We plan to begin shooting in March. That's the only film I have on hand right now," he says.
Reportedly, the film is inspired from the Tom Cruise starrer Top Gun. "Well, the only similarity is that I play a naval officer in the film. In the past, Rajesh Khanna and Shah Rukh Khan too had played naval officers, but that doesn't mean they were inspired by Top Gun. Dad's making a love story, which makes it entirely different from that film," Shahid states.

Genelia D'Souza at the premiere of her film Me...Image via Wikipedia
Genelia D'Souza is upset with rumours of her wedding with actor Riteish Deshmukh. The actress says she isn't getting married to anyone for the time being.

"To set the record straight, I am not getting married to anyone. I have always maintained that my personal life is not something I would like to discuss. But this time since it was something that would affect my family, I decided to take a stand," said Genelia in a statement released here Tuesday.

"My films and my brands are my priority as of now and I'd like to keep it that way. And if I do decide to settle down, you will hear it from me when as and when it happens," she added.

A tabloid had reported the romance brewed between Genelia and Riteish on the sets of Tujhe Meri Kasam (2003) and that they are planning to get married this year.

"It's rather funny that we have to read about the progress in our lives in the press before we even know it ourselves. I wonder how news like that can be put out without any confirmation from the people whose lives are being discussed," she said.

Genelia is right now looking forward to the release of Chance Pe Dance. She is paired with Shahid Kapoor in the film, which is releasing on Jan 15.

Bigg Boss (Indian TV series)Image via Wikipedia

After a dozen cat fights, two dozen fist fights and three dozen expletives hurled about, Bigg Boss finally has a winner - Vindu Dara Singh, the son of the legendary wrestler-turned-actor Dara Singh.

After staying in the Bigg Boss house since October 4th without having any contact with the outside world, Vindhu won a prize money worth Rs 1 crore and beat out veteran actress Poonam Dhillon model Pravesh Rana. The 45-year-old Vindhu is a struggling actor, he had made his film debut back in 1994 and he hopes his Bigg Boss win wouly provide a boost to his career. He earned a lot of fans for his bouts of anger in the reality show and also for his plotting and planning against the other contestants. The finale was hosted by Amitabh Bachchan and featured performances by evicted contestants Raju Srivastav, Claudia Ciesla, Kamaal Rashid Khan, Sherlyn Chopra, Shamita Shetty, Tanaaz Currim and Aditi Govitrikar.

An ecstatic Vindu was accompanied by his wife and child on stage as he beamed with the trophy and suitcase filled with the prize money in hand. "We all had left behind our families and peaceful lives outside to enter the Bigg Boss house. Although we were competing in a game, we lived like a complete family filled with unique characters and had moments of joy, sorrow and anger. It was indeed another life, a novel experience and we all gained a lot from it. I am extremely delighted in having been chosen the winner. It is a humbling experience, All I can say is thank you for liking me enough to make me a winner," Vindu said after the win.

Incidentally, he received maximum votes from the public but his father Dara Singh never voted for him. "'Yeh SMS karna bachchon ke liye hota hai' (Sending SMS votes is all for kids). I haven't sent any vote for Vindu. Our relatives and friends have sent votes for him," Dara Singh said. Vindhu played the role of Lord Hanuman in the serial "Jai Shri Hanuman" like his dad in the super-hit Doordarshan serial "Ramayan". H was also seen in serials like "Ssshhhh...Koi Hai" and "Karma" and in a Punjabi movie "Rab Dian Rakhan" (1996), which was directed by his father. Recently he appeared in bit roles in "Kambakkht Ishq" and "Partner".

Even though he didn't vote for his son, Dara Singh hopes Vindhu's career gets a boost. "I don't think Vindu has got many opportunities to show his acting calibre. He played Hanuman in 'Jai Shri Hanuman' for which he is remembered, but I always tell him to keep trying. Being in a famous show like 'Bigg Boss' will be very advantageous for him, but even if that doesn't work in his favour, I believe he should keep trying," he said.
